Fernwood Mikado Snake Plants are low-light tolerant indoor plants loved for their low maintenance plant care regimen. These drought tolerant, air purifying specimen make for an edgy modern addition to a space.
The Mikado is a compact hybrid version of Sansevieria Parva and Sansevieria Suffruticosa, making it ideal for smaller spaces and offices. Botanically referred to as 'Sansevieria Fernwood Mikado,' the Fernwood plants require little attention.
These plants store excess water in their sharp knife-shaped foliage allowing them to withstand droughts. Ideal conditions for these sharp grassy plants includes moderate to bright indirect light conditions and a well-draining potting soil.
The most important element of the Mikado's care regimen is neglect. Pot this succulent-leaved plant in a sandy soil or cactus mix, and water infrequently. To avoid chances of root rot, we recommend watering your Snake Plant every 3-4 weeks and using a plant pot with drainage holes. In the growing seasons of Spring and Summer, you may want to increase your watering somewhat, but be careful to avoid overwatering your plant.
